Schönbrunn Palace was put on the list of UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Sites in 1996. During centuries it was the summer residence of the Habsburg dynasty. 40 representative rooms tell the story of emperors and empresses, their lives and festivities at the Viennese Court. Important political decisions took place as well on this spot. Today Schönbrunn Palace is the most visited sight in Vienna.
There are different possibilities for tours inside the palace:
„Grand Tour“ – all 40 representative rooms
„Imperial Tour“ – rooms used by Emperor Franz Joseph I. and Empress Elisabeth including the Grand Gallery ball room
„Highlight Tour“ – the most ornate part of the palace from the time of Maria Theresia beginning with the Grand Gallery ball room
After the tour a little walk in the gardens is possible
